Omiyage, free bicycle rentals in a kura storehouse

About a 10 minute walk from Koga Station's west exit is an old neighborhood with a number of heritage buildings. Sakacho is a classic old kura storehouse said to be the former library of the long-gone Koga Castle. Around the Sakacho courtyard are three more antique storehouses. It's a cozy and historical spot. It's a good spot to get a light meal and a cup of coffee at the cafe, pick up local produce and omiyage treats. Sakacho rents out display spaces and also has a handful of bicycles free to borrow. Within easy cycling distance of the storehouse are half a dozen temples and Koga Sogo Park. The staff was really welcoming and described the merchandise to me. It's a relaxed and friendly place in a row of old heritage buildings.
