A lovely spot in hydrangea season

Kankoji Temple in Minamiuonuma is absolutely gorgeous during hydrangea season, and right now they have an incredible "hydrangea staircase" display. It's well worth checking out if you're a local or might be passing by. There's also a peaceful zen garden complete with raked stones, so if you are looking for that traditional feel without the crowds I highly recommend a visit here!
