Family fun in Tokyo
Inokashira Park Zoo is a great spot to check out in Tokyo if you're after a day of family fun. It's easily walkable from Kichijoji Station, and admission is easy on the budget -- only 400 yen for adults and free for kids aged 0 to 12 years. My kids love it here because of the ability to interact with animals like guinea pigs!

Zoo Adventures: A Weekend at Inokashira Park
We hopped on the bus to get to Inokashira Park Zoo, and it was super convenient because the bus dropped us right at the zoo's doorstep. The staff there were all smiles, and the place had a lively vibe. It being the weekend, there were tons of parents bringing their kids to check out the animals – penguins, goats, deer, wild cats, you name it. When we needed a breather, we just chilled on the benches under the shady trees and grabbed some cold drinks from the food stalls inside the zoo. The kids had a blast at the playground and the mini theme park, complete with train rides and other cool stuff. It's a fantastic way to spend the weekend with the little ones, plus it won't cost you a dime if they're elementary school-age or younger. And even for us adults, 400 yen was a pretty sweet deal for all the fun we had.
