    juxtaposition

I did not expect to find Panda Express in Japan ever, but if I would randomly walk pass one, it would be in Shibuya. I have never been a fan of American-Chinese food and prefer authentic Chinese food, but for a nostalgic hit, it is alright. The food portion is large, they are flavourful and greasy, just like what I wanted it to be. However, the price kinda holds it back and makes me think that I could get filled for cheaper at Japanese-Chinese restaurants. Good for those missing American-Chinese food, which some of us here might just be!

    American style Chinese in Tokyo

Most of the expat friends I have here in Japan are Americans, and one of the biggest laments I heard for many years was that there was no American-style Chinese food here. Over the years a few Panda Express stores have popped up to remedy that, including this store at Miyashita Park in Shibuya. They've got all your usual American-style Chinese favorites like beef and broccoli, orange chicken, and kung pao chicken, plus fried rice, stir fried noodles, and more. Pricier than in the States, for sure, but worth it if you need your fix! Portions are very much on par with American size, too - keep that in mind.
