    CLOSED PERMANENTLY

Unfortunately this branch of teamLab, in Tokorozawa City, Saitama Prefecture (beside Tokyo) closed down in January 2024. When they created it they said it was a 'permanent' exhibit, but over the years the opening hours were shortened several times until they got to a point that they only opened at night time at weekends. Then they announced the closure. Presumably they just weren't getting the custom.

Worth a visit at least once

It is not a particularly large display and there aren't different sections like the indoor Teamlab, but the permanent outdoor exhibit in Tokorozawa is worth a visit at least once. As RindoRingo said, they no longer open the exhibition during the day, just at night, but night time is a magnificent time to see it. The ovoid change color as you touch them and also change the color of the trees (by projection). Its a little bit pricey for the size, but if you like taking photos, its well worth it. If you can visit on a weekday night when there are less people around. If you are visiting in the summer I recommend you wear long pants and / or use mosquito repellant - there are a lot of mosquitoes in these woods!

    Relaxing and aesthetic park exhibition

A work of the famous teamLab collective, this part of Higashi Tokorozawa park is a permanent art exhibition with hundreds of oval, shiny objects that light up and resonate when shaked. We visited in November 2020, when it was open during daytime and it was very relaxing to walk around, enjoy the sunlight and the sounds of the installation. It seems that currently it is only open during night time, but it must be really impressive with the illumination. The ticked is quite expensive, but there are discounts for children and Tokorozawa residents, and it is worth visiting if you like modern art and taking cool photos.
