Ski lifts
http://ognahotaka.jp/The feel of the place is more local, maybe because it is tucked up in the mountains. This also means the road out to Oguna is mountainous and winedy. Snow tires are a must. A car is also a must because there is no public transportation out, as far as I know. There are however shuttles from the parking area to the shops/rentals. The first building has ski and snowboard rentals, 3000en for the board or ski set , and then 2500en for clothes. But if you have your own gear, then you can easily ride the slopes for 3900en which is the day pass ski lift ticket. There are a few places to eat here as well, serving the typical ski joint spread of udon, curry, or curry udon. Everyone is pretty friendly, even to kids how like to goof around. There is also a small section for younger ones to slide, but they were less happy about joking around and will scold even the bigger kids for climbing back up the slope instead of using their designated kid ski lift.
