Aikawa Park is a great place for kids to burn off a bit of energy, with a comprehensive obstacle course-style setup for them to traverse their way through. Best of all, it's free, so it's an easy way to have an inexpensive day out. There are lots of grassy areas where you could set up a picnic mat and BYO food as well to make it even more economical.
