Benten Rock

A highlight for me in Itoigawa

I really loved Benten Rock in Itoigawa. It is a small rock in the Sea of Japan that you can walk to from the coast along a striking red bridge. Atop the rock is a lighthouse and a torii. There is also a red torii at the steps leading to the top. The only thing is - it is super busy, or at least it was over Obon, and we weren't actually able to walk up to the top because of the volume of people. It is also the reason I don't have a good photo front on. Apparently, the views of the coast from the top are amazing. I will just have to revisit to experience them for myself.
