Loaded ramen served piping hot, tender chashu
Around Shimizu Park, there are a handful of places to dine out. Boyoshi is about a 10-minute walk south of Shimizu-Koen Station on the Nagareyama Kaido. Boyoshi is located in a two-story house, so you enter at the gengan, shuffle out of your shoes, and wear slippers on the laminated floor. The restaurant is small with three tables seating four to eight guests, and a counter with about five seats. On the menu, shoyu and tonkotsu ramen options include toppings of chashu and negi. I opted for tantanmen. The noodles are served piping hot in ceramic nabe pots. The tantanmen was loaded with ground pork and greens. For carnivores, I recommend the tender and flavourful chashu side. Prices are reasonable and portions generous. The master is a warm-hearted Japanese-speaking Chinese woman with a big smile.
