Southeast Asian food highly recommended
Abiko City residents who have lived in Thailand and Malaysia recommended Lemon Grass for lunch. The restaurant is a 2-minute walk from the north exit of Abiko Station. The interior, which appears to be a repurposed izakaya, has warm wood decor in the main dining area and counter seating. The decor is a blend of Thai, Indonesian, and Malaysian artifacts. We were seated in the tatami room which has horigotatsu seating with a space below the table to dangle your legs. The lunch menu offers sets that come with a fresh spring roll, salad, main dish, and a dessert or drink. I opted for nasi goreng, Indonesian-style fried rice. It came with a perfectly fried egg and a small mountain of rice and black sesame pudding. My dining companion was overwhelmed by the volume of the Thai green curry. The curry is served directly over a large portion of rice.
