Eight lush landscapes climb an office tower

Takeshiba Shinhakkei means the eight new views of Takeshiba. This lush garden climbs the east face of Tokyo Portcity housing a convention center and amenities, worth a visit in its own right. The garden is a wonder with eight different zones flowing around the first five floors of the building. You'll find a herb patch, an aquatic area, a vegetable garden, and even a rice paddy along the terraces. The garden also has an island section featuring flowers and plants from the Izu Islands to entice you to visit. The project includes nesting boxes, so look up to catch a glimpse of the resident falcons and kestrels. While the building follows office hours, the garden is accessible any time.
