Small, but bigger than I expected
We have a little zoo in Omiya Park, so I was expecting Inokashira Park Zoo to be something similar and was thus surprised that it was a lot bigger. However, I would still classify it as a "small" zoo. Still, it has different sections and there is enough to see. The guinea pig corner was the highlight for us. Good value for money and conveniently located near Kichioji station in a park with several other things to do / see.

A good addition to an Inokashira Park visit
Inokashira Park Zoo is (as the name suggests) located within Inokashira Park, and it makes a nice way to round out a day trip here if you have young children. Admission is super reasonable at only 400 yen for adults and free for kids 0-12 years old, so it's a budget friendly experience, too. They have a variety of animals to appreciate, including a guinea pig petting area which is really fun for the young ones.

Inokashira Park Zoo
The Inokashira Park Zoo is part of the Inokashira Park in Kichioji/Mitaka. The park is a little bit small, but might be perfect for kids, who feel easy boring. There are a few animals (mostly birds and monkeys), but many of them are living alone, which was little bit sad for me. Also their elephant, who is on every pamplet or their website died a few years ago. There is no new one, which was also very disappointing for me as a elephant lover. In addition to the animals, there are also a few smaller carousels and a larger picnic area that families like to use.
