Old station in a redeveloped area
The area around Toranomon station has undergone some major urban revitalization in recent years. But Toranomon station itself is very old. It opened in 1938. There is also a new station in the area with a similar name; Toranomon Hills station. It is not as busy as some of the other stations on the Ginza line, but that maybe because anytime I have used it has been during the day and not peak travel times.

Stop on the Ginza Line
Toranomon Station is part of the Ginza Line, in a fairly businessy part of Tokyo. It's not all business in the area, though -- you can get to the beautiful Hibiya Park in around 5 minutes on foot from the station, and it serves as a nice oasis in the heart of the city. It's also easy to connect to Toranomon Hills Station (Hibiya Line) from here.

Convenient infrastructure
I was heading towards Toranomon Hills and took the train, getting off at Toranomon Station on the Hibiya line. It was my first time exploring the station, and it looks new. I appreciate that the ground floor tunnel is connected to Toranomon Business Tower, so you don’t have to worry about the weather, especially on rainy days. It’s very convenient!

Plentiful shopping (although some of it very luxe) at Takanawa Gateway Station
