Natsui no Hazaki is a scenic spot in Niigata where you can enjoy one of the country's top farming village views – in fact, it has actually been named on Japan's top 100 list in this category (the full list is here: https://www.maff.go.jp/j/nousin/noukei/binosato/b_hyakusen/hyakusen.html) The contrast between the trees and the rice fields is really beautiful, and definitely worth checking out if you're in the general area. It's best accessed by car – it's about 10 minutes drive away from the Iwamuro Station area. No admission fees!
