Shinkansen Sushi

Much like Sushirou, this chain kaiten-zushi restaurant uniquely offers an all you can eat menu on weekdays from 2-5pm. It is reservation only (online) and a one hour limit for 1598 yen including tax for women; 1706 yen for men. Unless you can eat a lot of sushi quickly, it doesn't seem like it would be worth the value. This is what I was concerned about, considering two of us usually take our time and eat a ton at Sushirou and it only costs about 3500 yen. Anyway, my husband had been wanting to try this and we planned to be in the area for the Hina Matsuri events in Yanagawa. There isn't a Kappazushi restaurant where we live. We both felt pressure to eat fast and get our money's worth, but after the first 15 minutes, I knew that wasn't going to be a problem. The all you can eat menu is a little limited, but has most of the regular menu items and everything on the 100 yen menu. It includes a drink bar (just soft drinks) and some other dishes that are not sushi. We ordered some ramen and kare-age, as well as dessert. I'd say we got our money's worth for sure, as we ate at least 35 plates between the two of us, plus some other dishes. We did feel rushed but it might be worth it to go again if we're in the area.
