    Beautiful for flower lovers

There are lots of temples in Japan that have beautiful flowers, and if you like hydrangeas or chrysanthemums then Takahata Fudoson is a nice place to visit. Their hydrangea festival usually spans the month of June, and their chrysanthemum event is around late October to mid November. It's also a nice place to enjoy autumn leaves if you can time your visit right.

    Takahata Fudoson Kongoji

The Takahata Fudoson Kongoji is just a few steps away from the Takahata Fudo Station. The temple is one of the three biggest fudo temples in Japan and was build before the Taiho era. The temple area is very nice with many diffrent kind of buildings and a huge pagoda in the center of the temple area. It is possible to go inside the pagoda and enjoy a small exhibition. There is also a small pond just on the side of the main gate, where you can see lotusflower in summer. If you are stopping at Takahata Fudoson station, you shouldn´t miss to visit the nearby temple. Also during the olympics you can see the mascots in a kimono version standing in front of the pagoda.
