Beautiful lavender fields
Lavender street is the name of the road by the Shobu Branch Office of the Kuki City hall. It is so named because in June thousands of lavender bloom in the area. It was surprisingly larger and nicer than I expected. The lavender along with the nearby iris at the ruins of the former Shobu Castle and other smaller flower fields in the area, are part of a "Blue Festival" annually in June. During the period of the festival the car park at the Shobu Branch Office of Kuki City Hall is turned into a festival site. The festival is free, but if you want to pick lavender it costs 200 yen.
