Jougaya Sakura Tsutsumi

Stunning for two weeks of the year!

Jougaya Sakura Tsutsumi is a famous cherry blossom spot in the Kitamoto area of Saitama Prefecture. Sakura Tsutsumi means cherry blossom embankment or avenue. This sakura tsutsumi in Kitamoto is on a large embankment that straddles two separate parks. The embankment is also a road, that is infrequently used by locals. It is an embankment for the Ara River (Arakawa), but it is located quite a distance from the river itself. The Ara River has flooded very badly in the past, so it is common for there to be multiple embankments further back from the river. The Jougaya Embankment although small attracts hundreds of visitors for two weeks every year when the cherry blossoms and rapeseed bloom simultaneously. There is a car park in both of the neighboring parks "Tenjinshita" and "Kitamoto Nature Observation Park". The car park at Tenjinshita is most convenient as it is right by the cherry blossoms. And there is a toilet and vending machine there.
