Yikes, service quality has slipped
I get it. Saturday lunchtime around Kashiwa Station is hectic. But I was disappointed in the service on my recent visit to Isomaru at Kashiwa Station's south exit. The food is consistently good. Props to the cooks. The food was presented well, and the portions are just right. But the service left me a little cold. The server who greeted me seated me right away. However, she neglected to bring me an oshibori and a glass of water, which are standard at this chain restaurant. I had to ask twice. I sat listening patiently and realized that the servers were not greeting the customers right away, slow to respond to "Sumimasen", and kinda disorganized. Oh well, I had a decent meal. I might go back again outside of peak hours.

Good fresh seafood, cheap and filling lunch
Isomaru is a chain of seafood restaurants with many locations in the Kanto area. For a quick and nutritious- and cheap - lunch, this is one of my favorites. The picture menu makes it easy to choose donburi and lunch sets. I had the mackerel lunch. It was pretty filling, and lots of variety. For people on weird schedules, or jet lagged, or just unbury whenever, it’s a great 24 hour place
