Water, wildlife, greenery, and spaces to play

Teganuma is a well-loved marsh with wide-open views of the sky and greenery along the shore. Teganuma Park on the north side of the marsh is a blend of suburban park and rural landscapes. In the park are Avista, the city's lifelong learning center and library. Around Avista, at the foot of the slope from the center of town, are shade trees, pavilions, park benches, meadows and fields where people can relax and play. The park is especially attractive to families. The mini steam locomotive, sandbox, and wooden play park are popular. About 100 meters of the shoreline is covered in large rocks for children to safely play close to the water. The shoreline is an ideal wildlife observation spot as Teganuma is a major stopover for migratory birds, and of course, has many resident creatures.
