Kaikyo Yume Tower

Architecturally impressive with great observation deck views

If you’re in Shimonoseki you’ll no doubt notice the large tower on the landscape! The Kaikyo Yume Tower is architecturally impressive, and for a small fee you can head up the tower in a glass elevator to check out the views of the surrounding area. We went up at night and were able to see all the lights of the surrounding area lit up, but I imagine it would also be lovely during the daytime where you’d get a fantastic view of the Kanmon Strait as well. They offer discounted admission for foreign tourists, and despite being residents in Japan right now they gave us the foreign tourist discount which was nice! The front desk staff member spoke fluent English.
