Chichibu Roadside station is busy most of the year. It is popular with locals and tourists alike. It is a good place to break up a road journey, especially if you are using route 299. There are other roadside stations in Chichibu and Yokoze, but Chichibu roadside station has a few things they don't! For one, they have two coin operated rides for kids to play on. Also, they have Chichibu water available for free. It is available from a pump and people bring containers and line up to get their free Chichibu water! Another thing that attracts people is they sell fresh honey and honeycomb. There are lots of vending machines including one that sells Anpanman juice with Anpanman character voiceovers and music. There are plenty of toilets. They have a good choice of food. Chichibu roadside station is open from 9 am to 7 pm seven days a week.
