Old Yamabiko Bridge (Yamabiko Promenade)

A highlight of Unazuki Onsen Village

This is reportedly the bridge that would lead mine workers to the start of a 20 km maintenance tunnel. Today, it affords a stunning view of the gorge and of the minecarts passing over the new yamabiko bridge (Shinyamabiko bridge, also reviewed below). There is an observation deck halfway across the bridge and they stick a sign beside it daily showing what time the minecarts will pass on the new bridge.
