Great cafe on a charming street!

Ohgiya Cafe is situated on Bokushi Street, an Edo era styled shopping street in Shiozawa. The street itself is charming in it’s historical appearance, and this is the modern gem with the traditional facade that you’ll find there. The interior of the cafe is bright and white, with wooden floors and trendy tables and chairs - it’s every bit the modern hipster cafe but without the pretentiousness that you might find elsewhere. As for menu options, their selection of waffles are probably their most popular - most other diners around us were getting those too. They’ve got a big lineup of flavors from banana chocolate to blueberry cream cheese, and the ever simple but always delicious maple syrup and vanilla ice cream combination. They also have several savory food options including tomato cream pasta and curries with seasonal veggies. I loved the feel of this place and the food and will definitely be back.
