Preserved manor house
One of two Nakamura family antique manor houses in Koshigaya City, the Omanomachi house buildings date from the late 19th and early 20th century. The house is not terribly old, but precious as a great example of Meiji and Taisho Period life. The house has many everyday items which makes it feel as though the family members are home but just out of sight. For children and adults who are mad for firefighters, this is a great place to go. The building techniques for the gate house are explained by guides, and they’ll tell you about all the material and construction details that protect against fire. Antique pumper trucks, one restored and apparently in working order, are stored in the nagayamon gate house.
