Retro-themed Japanese Bar
Hanbey is a popular Izakaya (Japanese bar) chain that triggers one's nostalgia through its 1950s~ Japanese movie posters and toys. Its interior somehow gives you an image what Japan looks like in that era. FOOD: The serving amount is only small portions, but it’s perfect for drinking and very affordable; hence, you can tryout various items on their menu, which is a lot! Hanbey even has FROG LEGS (it just tastes like chicken) and free ice-cream for women― sorry guys! This Izakaya also has a NOMIHODAI (Drink-All-You-Can) for 2 hours, which is 1,500 yen for women and 1,700 yen for men. SERVICE: It’s quite good, but because it’s usually crowded they can forget your order, so you need to follow up. It’s also advisable to make a reservation during Fridays, Saturday, and Sunday since those days tend to be very busy for Hanbey. VERDICT: It’s my favorite Izakaya in Japan. I always have a good time when I go here.
