Awashima Park

Nice spot for hydrangeas

Awashima Park is a peaceful spot in the Gosen area of Niigata, and it's particularly nice for flower fans. At this time of year there are lots of hydrangea bushes on the grounds to enjoy, but if you stop by during spring it's also a gem for enjoying the fluffy, pastel pink sakura. There is some kids play equipment (swings, a climbing frame, etc) but they are a bit dated -- they still do the job in terms of entertaining the kiddos, though.
