Sasadango no Yamaji

Great place for your sasadango fix

Sasadango is a Niigata specialty, and if you're looking to try it out then Sasadango no Yamaji is a good spot to get your fix. The little shop has apparently been around for about 30 years, and the owner follows his grandmother's traditional way of making these. They are chewier (in a good way) than some other sasadango I've tried! The shop itself isn't big, and there's only a limited sitting space inside, so I would recommend assuming you'll take your sasadango as a grab-and-go. Well worth visiting if you're in the area, though!
