Relaxed, intentionally quiet cafe

Asterisk is a real gem in a rural area of Kawajima, near Kawagoe. Their website and Instagram might come across a little off-putting as they specifically state only individuals, pairs or a small group of up to 4 people are welcome. The very first time I looked it up, quite a few years ago now, I also noticed that it said "no children". I don't see that on their online presence now. They only have a small food menu, it is more a cafe than a restaurant, but the food is homemade and delicious. The portions aren't that big, but it is reasonably priced. I had a hamburger with rice lunch, coffee and scones for just 1500 yen. Despite its downfalls, I give it five stars for the food, ambiance, aesthetic and value.
