    All your tech needs in one spot

    This branch of Yamada Denki is one of the better ones I've been to, in big part because of the kind customer service here - everyone I've interacted with at this store has been more than happy to help and go the extra mile with giving advice (and explaining things slowly!). Lots of easy parking right out the front, too.

    A Community Focused Electronics Store

    A community focused electronics shop. The Yamada Denki in Sekiya is your common, everyday electronics store, but they do have a quite nice little section devoted to Mac products and generally very knowledgeable staff who will offer you counsel about what computer fits your needs. In the widest aisle there are little baskets with all types of electronics adjacent products like flashlights, batteries, cases for iPhones and other smartphone brands among other products. I say ‘community’ focused because it carries a wide variety of recliners and foot massagers and such for comforting the more senior in the community, which constitutes a lot of their clientele. The store is also nestled among a second book reseller, a family restaurant, and a supermarket, so it’s a scaled down version of a Niigata station experience with far less hustle and bustle. If you need something you can’t find, ask one of the super helpful staff. Even if your Japanese level is low, if you write it down or show the staff a photo on your phone or other portable device, they’ll help you get to it.
