Emotionally tough, but important to visit.
I think the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum is a must for anyone visiting the city. I will say that emotionally, it's a very tough experience - but I think it's so necessary to understand the horrors of war and why we need to endeavor never to get back to that point. I visited here before I had my children, and I don't know that I would visit with them until they were older - there's just a lot to take in, and I did cry during the visit. One thing that really stuck with me was a significantly damaged metal tricycle that was used by a young boy who died as a result of the atomic bomb. Perspective giving, heartbreaking, and a huge reason for all of us to reflect on the casualties war brings.

Sad, but Inspiring Museum
This museum I think is a must visit for everyone. Beware that there are some pretty intense pictures though. It was a bit sad, but really educational. They had a section about many of the victims that included some of their stories and belongings. My favorite part, however, was the part about international relations in regards to nuclear discussions. It was super educational and up to date.

Nice reconstruction and a good spot to learn about some of the city's history
