    Reopening soon

The Gunma Flower Park, located on the side of Mt Akagi, is currently closed for renovations. Please be careful if you use Google - it's AI overviews claims it is open but I can assure it's not. It is due to reopen in October 2025. I'm very excited to see what they've done with it!

If you can visit during illumination season it's well worth it

I had to add to my previous review and say that if you can manage a visit to the flower park during winter they have some really excellent illuminations on display. The admission fee is very reasonable for what you get to enjoy, and it's very family friendly as well. Definitely worth checking out.

    Something to enjoy year-round

The Gunma Flower Park is the kind of place that has something to enjoy year-round. There are peony, tulip, primrose, and azaleas to enjoy during the peak spring season, but there's no shortage of things to appreciate outside that timeframe either either. There are beautiful rose and dahlia festivals during summer and autumn, and peach blossoms and orchids to enjoy in the greenhouses during winter. The winter months also are home to an impressive annual illumination event, where the park extends its hours later into the evening.
