Not the best, not bad either!

Approximately 16000 iris grow at the former site of the Shobu Castle in Kuki City, Saitama Prefecture. Unfortunately there is nothing of the former castle left, except the site and a stone marker and part of a gate. However, the iris are very popular in the area. Personally, I wasn't as impressed with the iris garden than the nearby lavender garden. But if you are looking for somewhere to view iris in the Kuki area it is one of two of the most famous sites. What is useful is that you can walk to the aforementioned lavender garden. Both are part of what is called the "Blue Festival" annually in June. During the period of the festival you can borrow a bike for free to get between the various flower sites in the area.
