Kinzaburo Tea Store (茶町KINZABURO)

The store of a long-established tea wholesaler dating back to the 4th year of the Taisho era, we opened Kinzaburo Tea Store in 2010 and have already gone on to be crowned "King of Tea" on the popular TV show "TV Champion."

At our store we also sell our own, home-made confectionery.  Particular popular are the “Cha-machi waffles” and “Cha-furu.”  For both kinds of waffle we use cream made from matcha produced in each of Shizuoka’s regions.

At any one time eleven kinds of tea can be tasted here at the store, which has seating for 22 on the second floor. 

In the second-floor space we also host classes that cover themes such as tea ceremony, preserved flowers, and baby massage.  Our first-floor collection houses a line up of over 100 tea blends, confectionery, baked goods, and tea ceremony items.

In celebration of our store being the first of the "Shizuoka Chaya," we are serving tea tasting / comparing sets, each set featuring "No.1" teas selected from each of three production areas in Shizuoka.  

Here at Kinzaburo we founded and run the "Shizuoka Cha no Machi Concierge" (しずおか・茶の町コンシェル) which brings together different industries in support of our local "tea town." 

Our tea has been the recipient of the "Shizuoka Prefectural Governor Prize" and a "Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Director Award."  The Cha-furu, too, have been recognized having been chosen for a "Shizuoka City Aoi Premium Award. "
