Give me all your soup recipes

One thing I love as the weather gets cooler here is SOUP SEASON! Nothing better than a comforting and nourishing bowl of something yummy, and even better if it reheats well for leftovers. Do you have any favorite soup recipes for the colder months? Please feel free to share your recommendations to expand my cooking repertoire!

My husband is the cook in our house. I've been missing his cooking while outside Japan, and the only soup I've had is store bought! I'll be following this though - maybe I might challenge myself to make some, now that I'm cooking daily and getting some confidence in the kitchen!

In the sultry days of summer, I shared with you my riff on a Chinese approach to quick soup. https://www.city-cost.com/blogs/TonetoEdo/GQpK3-food_chiba It's still unseasonably warm, but I'm depending on nabe recipes. Most recently, gyoza, shredded carrot, and chopped cabbage simmered in tsuyu broth. I add whatever is on hand - buna shimeji mushrooms, ground ginger, and either onions or naga negi.

Another soup solution - I blogged last year about reconsidering how to cook in consideration of inflation - https://www.city-cost.com/blogs/TonetoEdo/MYqyB-living_food_shopping_money I shared an adaptable soup recipe that makes the most of carrots, kabocha, or sweet potatoes. I'm making it this week, too, with whatever is available in the supermarket. I pour it over rice or potatoes for dinner and bento box lunches.

Foreign exchange

Does your local bank do foreign exchange? If yes, do you have to be a member of the bank to use the service? If no, where do you do foreign exchange for cash?

If you were the PM of Japan, how would you positively change work-life balance here?

My recent blog about Sanae Takaichi's promise that "I will work, work, work, work and work" sending the wrong message to Japanese society got me thinking. If you were the PM of Japan, how would you positively change work-life balance here?
