Trousers/pants for girls with POCKETS

Hi! My daughter is starting elementary school very soon and we’re looking for pants with pockets for her to put her tissues and hand towel in. We’re already familiar with the cute detachable pockets that can be clipped on the outside, but it would be great if we could get some pants that already have pockets. I’m not opposed to her using her brother’s hand-me-downs, but they don’t tend to end their time with him in the best condition. I’m also not opposed to looking in the aisles for what is deemed boyswear, but she does like cute, pretty designs. Has anyone had any luck with this? She still takes 110 or 120 cm, depending on the shop and style of clothes. Thanks!

I saw a bunch of cargo pocket style pants at Nishimatsuya not too long ago, and they had them in a range of colors. I was shopping for my son so I didn't really pay attention to the more traditionally girly colors, but I'm pretty sure there were pinks and purples!

I would buy boyswear that fits for your pocket needs and add a girly trim, ribbons, bows or cute iron on patches to girly it up.

@JTsu That's actually a great idea...there are so many cute patches, too, that it makes a lot of sense to jazz something up that already fits the structural requirements!

An idea - I got two skirt suit combinations from Orihica, a business wear outfit. Both the skirt and the blazer had real pockets! The blazer has a cute peplum and the skirt is a-line, both easy to move in.

Your "buy it for life" purchases in Japan

There's a reddit community I really enjoy reading called r/buyitforlife. As the name suggests, people outline purchases that they've made that truly stand the test of time. Kitchen items, clothing, shoes, etc... What have been your "buy it for life" items here?

How well does your home country insulate homes compared to here?

One thing I struggle with is the lack of insulation in Japanese homes, with summers often feeling like you're living in a sauna and winters feeling like outside is the same temperature as inside. In saying that, my home country isn't fab with insulation either. They're still very much a nation of single paned windows and minimal stuff in the walls to regulate temperature well. Does your home country do insulation well compared to here?

Do you wear kimono? When and where?

In what environments have you worn kimono, hakama, or other traditional clothing? My only kimono experience is Heian period garb - basket hat, veil, and hakama - at a regional festival. I'm curious about daily kimono wear. Have you found a community or school that trains you in kimono wear? How much time do you dedicate to dressing?
