Questions about life in Japan answered by those who live it
Hi! I’m listing ideas of things to do during long breaks (that don’t cost a lot), and I thought of doing a library tour. Do you have any suggestions on libraries in this country that are worth visiting? Also would appreciate it if you can give reasons why. Thanks!

We're going to likely be house sitting for family in Tokyo this summer - at least for a couple of weeks - which means that we're not going to be here in Niigata and able to be emptying our dehumidifiers constantly. Do you have any amazing products (even better if you have Amazon links for me!) that don't need you to be physically present to draw that moisture out of the air? The last thing I want is to come back to a sticky, sweaty, moldy house! Thanks in advance!

I first visited Japan in 2012, and found that coffees other than Starbucks, Doutor or Boss were pretty hard to come by. Having lived in Melbourne for the past five years, I have had the privilege of having some of the best coffee at my doorstep which has unfortunately caused me to become quite discerning with my coffee choices haha. I know that coffee culture has changed quite significantly in Tokyo in recent years, and that there has been an explosion of international and Japanese roasteries popping up consistently. I'm interested to know more about your favourite kissaten or coffee shops, or any that you've found interesting!

Heading to Miyazaki, Kyushu this summer (4 nights, staying in Aoshima). Any recommendations on places to eat would be much appreciated. Also, any sightseeing spots? The priority is surfing but we'll have a car and will still have time to travel around a bit. Cheers!

I have family visiting Osaka and I'm in charge of choosing the eating establishments... I'm not necessarily looking for Osaka-specialty foods (kushikatsu, okonomiyaki, takoyaki, etc.) Just some typical Japanese shokudo-style restaurants that really stand out in your mind. Also, I don't eat red meat so no tonkatsu / yakiniku / etc. please! And preferably near the city center (Osaka/Umeda station or Namba)! Thank you :)

Hi everyone! I am looking for an online job (preferably part time) that is home based since I'm a full time mom and I really can't commit to any full time jobs right now. I used to be a technical support representative and an English teacher with TEFL Certificate. So if you guys know anything please send me a reply! (comment). Thank You!! :)

Hello, everyone. I have been dreaming of going to Okinawa some day. I want to stay at a hotel for one or two nights, see and swim in a beautiful transparent sea with sand long beach. But unfortunately my dream never came true. I am told that Okinawa is super expensive and people usually book hotels, airline tickets and so on several months beforehand. I am not a rich person that's why I would like to travel econom level. Could anyone please give me some advice on going to Okinawa including some information about transport, hotels, beaches, food, souvenirs?

Hey everyone! I’m moving to Nagoya in a few weeks like to take up a job teaching English as a foreign language. Re-locating on my own, I know little Japanese and no one in Japan.. yet! I was wondering what can I expect like culture shock wise? How did you adjust? What challenges will be the most testing?
