Questions about life in Japan answered by those who live it
I see people with a bus commuter pass and I'm wondering if there's any information online about this? (I can find a lot of information about the train tekken commuter passes.) I want to see the prices and if it's worth it for me to buy one. If it matters, I'm looking for Yokohama area ones... Keikyu bus or Kanachu bus. (or is there one for all companies?)

I am Not a makeup girl. I like chapstick, maybe one with a little color in it. That's about it. I'm a natural type and would probably get lipstick onto clothes / cups so I've just avoided using it. I've been checking out the lipstick (and tinted chapsticks) sold in drugstores (usually under/around the 1000 yen price range) but don't know anything about make up. I want to get one pink (not too bright) light feeling lipstick. Any ideas? Are they all sort of the same at that price range? Local is better, but I noticed Shiseido's are over 2000 yen each. Is it worth it? Cruelty free gets bonus points.

So, I have a question to ask. Maybe a guy can answer better... Anyway, all help is very much welcome. Do Japanese men answer to texting when we (women) write melo./ cheesy texts? I'm kind of straight forward and I say things as I feel them but, my boyfriend, he doesn't answer it, he puts very pragmatic answers and it's kind of like he's avoiding them, like making a detour around it. He used to reply at first, he was never cheesy, just sweet. Then... no more!!! I wonder if I said or did something wrong. He says no. But I'm starting to doubt it! Like a 6th sense! What do you think?

Hi. I've got my mum and sister visiting me in Japan from tomorrow. Was thinking about taking them to see the cherry blossom along the Meguro River, basically because I've never been there during this season. However, if it's really crowded and a hassle to just walk around, maybe I might choose somewhere else. Anyone been? Is it worth a look?

I'm getting one of my New Year's Resolutions ticked off, and have a short trip planned to Shimane in late May. I'm going to visit Matsue, Izumo and Yasugi. Apart from the main to-do's there, does anyone have any experience with some off the beaten path spots? Cute cafes, interesting museums, anywhere you'd like to share?

Hi there. So! The embassy of Japan has told me that if I want to have a long term visa I need (mandatory) a job and a certificate of eligibility and there's no way around this. The amount for working holidays is nearly 10 000 € and it's a lot. Any suggestions on how I can get a good job and a good presentation to have a job in Japan. I wanted to be a teacher.
I have a big issue in hands. I had to tell my Japanese boyfriend that I have a bipolar disorder. And I'm scared because I think I shouldn't have said anything and honesty sometimes comes with a high price to pay. Any advices?!?! Please

My skin has hated me ever since I had my second baby - breakouts all the time, and it’s really starting to weigh on me. Do you have any favorite products for breakout prone skin? Has anyone ever gone to a doctor for advice here for acne prone skin? I’ve heard that Japan doesn’t prescribe oral medications for acne so I’m stumped in that regard too - not sure if going to a doctor here would yield any results.
