Questions about life in Japan answered by those who live it
Does anyone know of good double stroller brands in Japan that aren't massive, but will still accommodate a 3 or 4 year old? I've been getting by so far by using our single stroller with my eldest, and then carrying my 6 month old in a baby carrier - but he's getting heavy! Sometimes I'd just like the option to have both of them in a stroller, but I don't want something too bulky, either! Any advice would be much appreciated!

Hello fellow gaijins! Has anyone experienced applying for a Japanese credit card? I applied last weekend for a jcb card and it was an onsite application. I received a phone call from them after 4 days verifying my information. Could this be a good sign that I might get approved for the card? To this date, it has been 4 days since they called and it's silence so far.

A lot of my friends in Japan finally came to the country after having wanted to come here for so long. After living here for a short time though, most of them soon go back home. Just wondering why that might be. Thoughts? Do you find that after living overseas for a long time, things become more difficult?

I've probably mentioned this a lot before, here and there, but in the case of the Starbucks that I see going about me daily business in Japan, almost all of them tend to be packed. Not that I'm massive fan but I prefer Starbucks to some of the other coffee chains in Japan like a Dotour or Veloce. To this end I thought if anyone out there knows of, or from now spots, a Starbucks where you're almost guaranteed to get a seat, maybe we could drop them here and, well, have some sort of list that we can all refer to.

So I'm an artist from America currently living in Japan. When I lived there I would often exhibit art in local cafe's or community art shows. I'm wondering if anyone knows of any opportunities like this here in Japan? Preferably in the Tohoku region since I live near Aomori.

A request came through on my Small Girl Big Japan Facebook travel page to cover the working life in Japan. I have already done some work on this and I plan to release it on Facebook. I intend to take it beyond my opinion though. I'm starting with the negative first. I will write an article for my page and release a video too. What was your first bad experience of working in Japan? How did you feel and what did you do? What do you really hate about working here? What things don't you understand about working here? What do you think about taking holiday as sick leave, etc? What is the worst perk? What do you make of not being allowed to confront the hierarchy? What is the best advice you can give someone who wants to work here with no experience of the country?

Looking for a classy Japanese restaurant that does set courses. The options seem so overwhelming and I usually don't go out for expensive Japanese food that I though I'd try and get some direct recommendations. Shinjuku, Shibuya, Daikanyama (south, southwest Tokyo station areas preferred). It's a bit of an occasion requiring of something traditional and sedate. Budget around 6000 yen a head. Cheers.

Does anyone out there know where might be a good bar / pub in Tokyo to watch the Floyd Mayweather vs Connor McGregor fight this Saturday? If there are any places showing it, that is? Also, can anyone explain to me why there has be sooo little fanfare or coverage about Mayweather vs McGregor in the Japanese media while the rest of the world seems to be going crazy about it? I mean, they are fans of both boxing and various forms of martial arts over here, I thought.
