Hi everyone! Do you happen to know any dentistry or Orthodontics clinic that speaks English here around Kani shi, Gifu? Thank you!

If you have a level of Japanese capability or know someone who does, I'd just get them to call every dentist office in the town and ask if they have any English speaking staff on hand. I live in a small town in Niigata, and there are actually several dentist practices in the town (amazingly!) and one of the dentists speaks English. The dental hygienists didn't, but we were able to get through the cleaning and check up with my broken Japanese and their broken English - but it was handy that the dentist spoke English when he was filling in a cavity I had. I know that's not all that much help but fingers crossed you'll be able to find something that way. Best of luck - I know from my own experience it's much more comforting to be able to communicate when the staff speak English :)

http://japanhealthinfo.com/ is a great service to help you find English speakers. I have used it multiple times. It only cost money if you have them make the appointment.

What do you MOST associate with Oita?

Seen as there was a good response to the same question for Ibaraki AND today is Oita Prefecture day (although they don't celebrate it), what is the first thing that comes to mind when I say "Oita Prefecture"? I have written a post about Oita Prefecture day with what I most associate with it, but I won't write it here so as not to influence your answer, but you can read the post here; https://www.city-cost.com/blogs/BigfamJapan/Mnv34-living_oita

What do you MOST associate with Ibaraki?

Just for fun - what is the very first thing that comes to mind when I say Ibaraki prefecture? Today, is Ibaraki prefecture day and when I was choosing what photo to use for the feature photo, one place came to mind instantly. I don't want to influence your answer so I won't mention it here, but you can check it out in the article: https://ww2.city-cost.com/blogs/BigfamJapan/GReVv-living_ibaraki_ushiku_shi_ibaraki

Japanese names you love?

I blogged yesterday about this year's top baby names in Japan, and there was quite a focus on nature and calmness in the most popular picks. I was wondering if there are any Japanese names you love for the meaning behind them. Maybe you have a friend, coworker, or even family member with a beautiful name. I'd be happy to hear what it is, and why you like it so much!

How often do you use chopsticks?

I have just written about "Chopstick Day". The second "Chopstick day" of the year! I am curious; how often do you use chopsticks? For every meal? Once a day? With certain meals only? Occasionally? Never!?
