All about drones

Do you own a drone? Have you ever used a drone in Japan? Do you know the drone regulations in Japan? My two cents on the future of drones; https://www.city-cost.com/blogs/BigfamJapan/G0oer-living_tokyo

I don't own one, and honestly I don't know that I ever will purchase one. I think for some people who really love photography etc. then it's a big drawcard being able to use one, but I don't think in my day-to-day life I'd need it. I knew vaguely about some of the regulations, but I didn't know that you had to apply 10 days in advance to use a drone! I think the tight rules are good, though. Between privacy issues to the danger of damaging historic structures if they're not flown safely (and many more potential concerns), I'm all for it being a bit strict!

@genkidesu privacy issues is a very good point, didn't think of that in my post. I thought I might eventually buy one, but now that you have to register a flight in advance, I don't think I'll bother - I am not that organized of a person! Most of my trips are impromptu and I like it that way! :)

@BigfamJapan yes, the registering in advance would take a bit of the spontaneity out of anything!

What Chiba places, cuisine, events, experiences enrich your Japan life?

The Chiba Prefecture government's international affairs division invites foreign resident volunteers to share the Chiba spots we love. I can't attend because of work obligations, but I can share your faves by email. What in Chiba lit you up - food, shops, nature, festivals, events, and experiences? Conversely, what didn't work out or confounded you? Photo tax - irises at Noda City's Sogo Park.

What do you most associate with Wakayama?

Today, November 22nd, is Wakayama Prefecture Hometown Birthday. What do you most associate with Wakayama Prefecture? To be honest, I realized in writing about this 'birthday', that I know next to nothing about Wakayama Prefecture. I'm really interested to hear what your image of the prefecture is. Your "buy it for life" purchases in Japan

There's a reddit community I really enjoy reading called r/buyitforlife. As the name suggests, people outline purchases that they've made that truly stand the test of time. Kitchen items, clothing, shoes, etc... What have been your "buy it for life" items here?
