Saga Prefecture is located on the island of Kyushu in western Japan. With a population of 839,458, it is one of the least populated prefectures in Japan. Every year, Saga City holds the “Saga International Balloon Festival.” Many people who live in Saga Prefecture attend the event, along with visitors from all over Japan and the world, with attendance typically in the millions. Saga City is considered to be a part of the Fukuoka-Kitakyushu metropolitan area. Agriculture and forestry dominate the economy of Saga Prefecture; It is the largest producer of Mandarin Oranges and mochigome in Japan. Saga Prefecture is also famous for it's porcelain production.
