Commercial facilities gather around Kamata Station and Omori Station, where redevelopment works have improved the convenience for the surrounding neighborhoods.2 Tokyu Line trains run through the ward from the west to the center part, and along these lines there are high class residential areas such as Denenchofu, Senzokuike, Higashi-yukigaya, Kugahara, Magome, and Sanno. In the center part there are many hilly areas and about 50 roads named after these slopes such as Usudasaka and Horaisaka (‘saka’ is slope in Japanese). Many residential properties in these areas are constructed using the hilly landscape to their advantage giving the rooms nice views with wide vistas and an open feeling.
