Kyu-Yasuda Garden - japanese style garden
The Yasuda Garden belonged to the villa of the wealthy Yasuda Zenjirō (1836-1921), founder of Yasuda-Zaibatsu in Tokyo. It is a small nice japanese style garden, with an pond in its center. Long time ago the water of the pond was drewing from the nearby Sumida River but nowa days they use a pump to keep the water on the right level. Kyu-Yasuda Garden is a public park and therefore free. Also the newly in 2018 opend Sword museum, just next to the park is free of charge (except some special exhibition). From the rough of the museum you can enjoy a great view over the garden. Every summer you can visit a small summer festival in the garden, where some musicians play on the shamisen or koto, while floating on a stage on the pond. If you are already in the area for visiting the Sumo arena or the Tokyo Edo museum, the garden will be a nice spot for a break.
