A bright space to have a cup of coffee, study, and/or have a light meal
This Tully's Coffee on the second floor of Corty next to Kyodo station, feels open and bright, even on a rainy day despite how closely placed the numerous small tables are. The large windows allow a lot of natural light to come in, and provide a view of the area in front of Kyodo station (Odakyu Line). This Tully's has the same menu as any of the other Tully's throughout Japan. It has coffee, of course, as well as tea, fruit swirkles, and a food menu that includes hot dogs and pastas in addition to the industry standard cookies and pastries. They have a large number of mugs for sale as well as coffee that one can take home to brew. Unlike many coffee shops I have been to recently, there were no signs or posts requesting that people limit their time in the shop, and I, and several others, spent a good many hours there on a recent day. Also, despite it being full the day I was there, I would not say that it was noisey, either, which I really appreciated. Many of the people there were studying or reading or working on computers. There was also no music being played by the shop, which I also really liked. There was often a line at the register, and a bit of a wait for my drink and food, but nothing too significant. I was also there early so was able to get a seat before they were all taken. In addition to the general seating area, there is a small, sealed off smoking room. The only negative is that there is no restroom in or very near the shop itself and so one must walk to the back of the shopping center to get to the nearest facilities. It is not far, but I worried about leaving my things unattended a bit because it was so busy the day I was there.
