Tasty food and reasonable prices in an otherwise expensive area of the city
If you have a hankering for Thai food and you're in Tokyo, a favorite of mine when I lived there was Kaffir Lime, which is on the backstreets of Omotesando. There are so many expensive eateries in the area - which is to be expected, I guess, when you have streets lined with Prada and Louis Vuitton amongst others - but this little gem has both reasonable prices and sizeable portions in the area (not to mention tasty food). If I could recommend one dish it would be the coconut green curry. It's incredibly flavorful and you get a really large bowl full - and it's only around 1000 yen (to me I would say it's enough to split with a friend too, unless you're ravenous). The store does sometimes get busy (probably due to the fact that their prices are so good for the area) but you don't usually have to wait too long to get a table (if there is a wait at all).
