Imado Shrine - the cat shrine

The Maneki cat, waving cat you can find often at many stores as a lucky charm, is believed to had its origin at the Imado shrine. The shrine is around 15 minutes away from Asakusa station. It is a nice walk around the riverside park. The Imado shrine is a popular destination for people seeking good luck in love and marriage. If you are touching the head of one of the cats at the main shrine, it will bring luck and happieness to you. The shrine has many small cat statues and also the ema, wooden plate for your wishes, has the symbol of the popular Maneki cat.
