I've found out the hard way in Japan that not every hairdresser has experience with foreign hair. My hair is super fine, strawberry blonde, and probably difficult to deal with if you're not used to it! I've had terrible highlights and cuts done before, so it usually pays to just go where people know their stuff - and for me, that's Golds. Even though I don't live in Tokyo right now, when I do have a chance to visit and have time to get my hair done there it's a must to try and get an appointment. Hiro is the stylist that I usually get appointments with, and he's wonderful - always professional and does a wonderful job, both with color and cuts. An added bonus of visiting here is that all of the staff speak English, including when you make a phone call - they answer in English! So if your Japanese is mediocre like mine you'll appreciate that.
