    Great desserts, salads, and arancini!

Franze and Evans are situated on the backstreets of Omotesando/Harajuku, just off the main drag with all the designer label stores. They're a great spot to stop into for a light lunch or even just for a dessert and coffee. Even though the original Franze & Evans store is based in London, I'm pretty partial to them as an Aussie, since they have a few of my favorite Aussie desserts on their menu, like pavlova and Anzac biscuits. They've got plenty more sweets where those came from and they're all beautifully presented as well. If you're after something with a bit more substance than sweets, they have you covered there too. They have a really wide range of salads on offer on any given day, and you can choose three of them for just shy of 1400 yen. They've also got a meal set where you can get one of their hot dishes and two salads for 1580 (quiche seemed like a popular choice for other patrons on my most recent visit). Personally though when it comes to their savory eats, I don't think you can pass up their arancini balls! If you've never had arancini before, they're basically deep fried rice balls, filled with mozzarella cheese and a host of other ingredients, and coated in breadcrumbs. They've got both a meat and a vegetable option here and I've tried both on separate occasions - super tasty!
