Mr. Kanso

Need a quirky-ish bar to take friends or fam in town? This is it.

When a lot of my friends or family come to visit, popular things to do have often centered around Japan's "quirky" things. Whether it's a cat cafe or themed restaurant, they always seem to be hits. Another interesting spot if you're looking for a place to grab a drink or two is Mr. Kanso. Mr. Kanso is a chain of bars (so you will be able to find more locations than just the one I have been to!) but essentially the gimmick here is that all of the bar snacks are canned goods. You have some very normal bar foods that come in cans (think peanuts, for instance), but there are other things that are weird and wacky indeed (foie gras or sardines were a couple we saw!) If nothing else, it gives you a bit of a laugh and a tour of the world through canned food. Very unique!
