Ramen Bonten

Delicious chicken ramen

My trip to Nikko was plagued with disaster. One of the few redeeming qualities of the city was Ramen Bonten. After an awful experience at Nikko Coffee, I wasn't expecting the food service quality in Nikko to improve. Ramen Bonten changed my mind. It wasn't crowded when we stopped by at around 7 PM. The lot was a bit full but we were still able to find parking. There was a wait for a table (party of 4) but counter space was open. My friend suggested this place because they had chicken ramen. I don't eat red meat, so ramen is rare for me (there's usually pork in it in some way or another!) Luckily, I was able to eat here. I got the butter corn ramen and it was delicious! Not the best ramen I've ever had, but really tasty. The service was all right and the prices were average. You can also get alcohol here (there's a huge selection). I got a drink which used their famous Tochigi strawberries. It was pretty good but I couldn't taste the difference. I recommend trying out the local offerings, and I think its great they give you the option.
