A gorgeous park right next to the stadium

Yokohama Park is a great place to stroll through when you want to get away from the rest of the city. Surrounded on all sides by concrete buildings and bustling industry, it's a little pocket of nature where you can lose yourself for a few minutes. The park itself isn't very big, but it packs a lot in a tiny area. Right next to Yokohama Baystars Stadium, there's fountains, nature, a little playground, and a seating area to take it all in. Though it is lovingly cared for year-round, I recommend coming in the autumn when the leaves are changing. There's a Japanese-style pond in the middle of the park and it really is a sight. Sometimes, you'll even catch a local market here. I've seen food booths here a few times as well, but that could just be for the baseball fans during that season. It's frequented by all kinds of people, old and young, visiting and local. There are a good number of homeless who reside in the park as well. If you're looking for a free activity on a nice day, be sure to stop by. You may even stumble upon it yourself before or after a trip to Chinatown, as it's right next door. Keep an eye out for the local wildlife, too. You can see a colony of cats sometimes!
